Spring Break Trip

Hi All,

Below are details about our spring break trip to southern California. Lisa Cleary and Pam Payne have done an excellent job of organizing this trip. Please note: if you are planning on trying out for varsity and would like to go on the trip. It is important that you send in your refundable deposit by Feb. 1st. If you do not make varsity - the deposit will be refunded by March 5th.

MULLEN HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE SPRING BREAK TRIP 2012 – ORANGE COUNTY, CA

TUESDAY MARCH 20TH TO SATURDAY MARCH 24TH

The Mullen High School Varsity Lacrosse Team will travel to Orange County to play lacrosse with area high school teams. We have scheduled games against J. Serra, Mater Dei, and Corona Del Mar High Schools. The primary purpose of this trip is to help the team members bond with one another, strengthen their sense of teamwork, and build positive momentum for the overall season.

TRIP INCLUDES: The cost of the trip is all inclusive and includes round trip airfare, ground transportation, 4 nights lodging, 3 meals a day and snacks, a special team dinner, practice/game fields, officials, and more.

LOGDING DETAILS: Tentative arrangements have been made for the team to stay at the Hotel Laguna. More information about the lodging arrangements will be communicated to parents and players after the first of the year. Hotel Laguna was the first hotel in Laguna Beach and has been around for over 125 years. The hotel has charm and history (and the smaller, older type rooms that go along with that). Our choice was based on LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The hotel is right on the beach and within walking distance of parks, shops, and restaurants. If parents are planning on making the trip as well there are many hotel options with nicer accommodations and more amenities within the same area.

COST PER PLAYER: The cost per player is expected to be approximately $825 per player – the same as last year. We will plan some outings that may offer the opportunity to purchase souvenirs or lacrosse items, so players should bring some extra spending money.

NOTIFICATION: The Final Varsity Roster will be determined once tryouts are completed on or by March 1st. The varsity roster will be made up of 28-30 players. However, for logistical and playing time concerns, we will only be taking a travel squad of 28 players to Orange County.

DEPOSIT: A refundable deposit of $300 is due by February 1, 2012 to secure Flight and Hotel reservations for the team. The deposit will be refunded to those players that do not make the Varsity Travel Squad. Those players who are selected to the Varsity Travel Squad will need to pay the remaining balance by March 5, 2012.

Please make your check out to MULLEN BOYS LACROSSE and mail to Pam Payne at 86 North Ranch Rd, Littleton, Co 80127.

PLAYING TIME: This is a Varsity Travel Squad. Playing time will be handled in very much the same fashion as if we were playing in Colorado. That is, game situations will dictate the playing time of reserves on the squad. Remember, one of the primary purposes of this trip is to build team chemistry and camaraderie. We want all players to have a fulfilling experience, but don’t want to set the expectation that by paying the travel fee, playing time is guaranteed.
